DAILY PROMISE

DAILY DEVOTION

I am a christian

When I say ...'' I am a christian
I am not shouting '' I AM CLEAN LIVING''
I'M whispering '' i was lost''
Now I'M found and forgiven.

When I say ...'' I'M Christian''
I don't speak of this with pride
I 'M CONFESSING THAT I STUMBLE
and need christ to be my guide.

When I say ...'' I'M a christian"
I'M not trying to be strong
I'm professing that I'M WEAK
AND NEED HIS STRENGTH TO CARRY ON

When I say...'' I'M a christian"
I'M not bragging of success
I'M admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess

When I say...'' I'M a christian ''
I'm not claming to be perfect
My flows are too visible far
But,God believess I am worth it

When I say ...'' I'M a christian''
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
so I call upon His name

When I say...'' I'M a christian''
I 'M not holier than thou
I'M just a simple sinner
Who recieved God's good grace, SOMEHOW..

DAILY BIBLE STORY

WHAT IS PRAYER?

Prayer is basically talking with God. It is simply expressing your heart and spending time with Him. It is not a one way activity, God speaks, we listen, we speak and God listens to our hearts. Prayer can be exciting, powerful and fulfilling.

I am going to be focusing mostly on intercession, but I also wanted to provide an overview on other types of prayer that will hopefully inspire you to pursue your own personal study on this subject.

Types of Prayer

A. Thanksgiving
B. Petition
C. Prevailing
D. Intercession

A. Thanksgiving - Giving thanks to God for all things in your life. We are commanded to give thanks in all circumstances. Being thankful is being grateful for his protection, provision, blessing, and most of all for his Son.

B. Petition - We ask God for the specific things we need in our life. Give us our daily bread. Give us the things we need to survive, a roof over our heads, employment etc. Petitions are usually self orientated, presenting our personal needs to our Heavenly Father, in trust that He will provide. Be specific in your petitions, pray in details and not in generalities.

C. Prevailing Prayer - fervent consistent insistent prayer until a breakthrough takes place, whether in your personal life, or for someone else (intercession). Example Believing for emotional or physical healing.

Biblical Example: Luke 18:1-8.(NIV) Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, `Grant me justice against my adversary.' "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, `Even though I don't fear God or care about men, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'" And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

D Intercession - Love on its knees in prayer, for others. Pleading on behalf of the needs of someone else. Standing in the gap, that is, praying prayers of repentance, etc., identifying yourself with the sins of those for which you are in prayer.

Biblical Example: Nehemiah, a godly man, identified with the sins of his people, praying prayers of repentance, asking the Lord to forgive and to have mercy and to raise up once again the nation of Israel.

Confirmation of Conversion

Reading: John 3:1-16

"If any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things

have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Cor 5:17)

Can we identify a genuine experience of salvation? Surely yes!

First of all, there will be the true peace and joy through the Holy Spirit in the heart! When we make peace with God we have the peace of God. Jesus called it the peace the world cannot give (Jn 14:27). The burden of sin is rolled away! Guilt is gone! The converted man is overflowing with gratitude to God. He shouts with exuberance, "Thank you, Lord, thank You!" If over one sinner who repents there is great joy among the angels "in Heaven," will the angels "on earth" around him stay unmoved (Lk 15:10)?

Secondly, the converted man begins to hate sin and the evil ways of the world. The sinful acts he was indulging in during the past so willingly appear obnoxious to him now. The joy of the Lord has replaced the silly pleasures of sin. This does not mean he will never ever commit any sin. Before getting saved he was like a pig; he would be wallowing in the mire! Now he is a lamb. Even if someone pushes the lamb into the mire, it will atonce jump out and not stay there. Have you understood the difference? A child of God will not "live" in sin!

Thirdly, the saved man begins to love Bible meditation, prayer and fellowship of God's children. It is no more the routine of reading the Bible for a few minutes as a religious custom, but a delightful desire to spend hours in meditating it (Psa 1:2). Prayer becomes his very breath. Earlier he had not known God. But now he knows God as his Father. Hence this longing to speak to Him! He begins to feel and appreciate the love of God who has redeemed him (1 Jn 3:1). Fellowship with saints is necessary to comprehend the width, length, depth and height of that love (Eph 3:18).

Fourthly, those who are saved will walk in love with others (1 Jn 3:14). They will restitute matters with the wronged (Mt 5:23,24). Loving the enemies, the persecutors and the opposers is a proof of our being children to a God of love (Mt 5:43-48).

Fifthly, the saved man will just be anxious to share his new-found joy with others (Jn 4:28,29; Mk 5:19). "Let the world get the joy I got!"- This will be his motto.

More about Jesus would I know,

More of His grace to others show;

More of His saving fullness see;

More of His love-who died for me!

Letter From Hell. - Scary but true

A Young Girl's Gift

One Sunday afternoon last December, Ann Sutton happily watched over a holiday cooking spree in her kitchen. Son Mickey stirred up a batch of candy. Daughter JaKeilla and her boyfriend, Frank, popped cookies in and out of the oven. In the middle of it all was younger daughter Kinzie, a seven-year-old dynamo who munched on cookies and called out instructions from a table covered with red and green place mats.

With a social worker mother and a youth worker father, the Sutton children had inherited their parents' commitment to service and knew never to take their good fortune at Christmas for granted. The median household income in Wayne County, Kentucky, where they lived, was only $28,000, and the Suttons' dinner conversation often turned to local families in need. Many of Ann's clients had lost jobs when the houseboat industry in nearby Monticello collapsed. Many others hadn't recovered from the downturn in the coal industry.

Knowing how much her own children loved presents at Christmas, Ann always tried to seek help for one or two destitute families. This year, Kinzie was thrilled that Santa Claus would make a special visit to a 22-year-old mother named Ashley who worked in a factory and was raising her 12-month-old son, Evan, and her 12-year-old brother, Kenny, by herself.

Amid this joyful Sunday, the phone rang. A representative from a local organization was calling to say that the aid Ann had requested for Ashley had fallen through. No Santa Claus, no presents, nothing.

Ann saw the cheer vanish from her children's faces at the news. Kinzie's chatter stopped. Without a word, she slipped down from her chair and ran from the room. Back in the silent kitchen, it didn't feel much like Christmas anymore.

Kinzie returned, her face set with determination. She had opened up her piggy bank, and now she counted out the coins and crumpled dollar bills, one by one, onto the kitchen table: $3.30. Everything she had.

"Mom," she told Ann, "I know it's not much. But maybe this will buy a present for the baby."

Then suddenly everyone was reaching into pockets and purses. Mickey and Frank gathered small bills and handfuls of change. JaKeilla ran into her room and cleaned out her Wizard of Oz coin bank. Adding to Kinzie's gift became a game, with everyone hunting for loose change. Kinzie's squeals of joy rang through the house.

As the money piled up on the kitchen table, Frank began rolling coins into paper sleeves. By the time the search ended, there was a small mountain of bills and a neat stack of rolled coins. The total: $130. "God multiplied your gift," Ann said to Kinzie.

At a breakfast meeting the next day, Ann told her coworkers about her daughter's latest project. To her surprise, staff members began to open their purses and empty their pockets to add to Kinzie's stash. The generosity was contagious.

Throughout the day, Ann's colleagues dropped by with contributions. Each time a little money came in, Ann called home. And with each report from her mother, Kinzie would scream into the phone and do a little dance of triumph.

By day's end, the story of Kinzie's gift had spread beyond Ann's office. She received a call from an anonymous donor. If a seven-year-old could give everything she had, he said, he should at least match her gift 100 to 1. He contributed $300.

The total was now $500—plenty for a Christmas for three.

That evening, Kinzie went with her mother and sister to spend the money. They bought pants, shirts, pajamas, and household necessities in bulk. There was a pair of cool-looking boots just right for a 12-year-old boy, a pretty scarf for Ashley, and heaps of toys for the baby. They even had enough to buy food for a Christmas dinner.

On Christmas Eve, Ann drove through the pouring rain to the small trailer where the family lived, then backed her Trailblazer close to the door. When Ashley opened the door, Ann stood under her umbrella and wished the astonished woman a merry Christmas. Then she began to unload the gifts from the car, handing them to Ashley one by one.

Ashley laughed in disbelief, and still the presents came. Ann abandoned the umbrella, and the young woman joined her in the rain, passing gifts inside to Kenny. "Please, can I open up just one tonight?" he begged. Soon both women were soaked to the skin, and surprise had turned to something deeper, the kind of joy that brought them close to tears.

Reflecting on a little girl's generosity, Ashley says she hopes she'll one day be able to do something similar for someone else in need. "Kinzie could have used that money for herself, but she gave it away," Ashley says. "She's the type of kid I'd like my son to grow up to be."

God Has Drawn A Circle around Each Person

------------- Zac Poonen------------------------

God, in His sovereignty, has given a particular ministry to each and
every member in the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:7,8). We could say that
God has drawn a circle around each person. In some cases the circle is
very large and in some cases it is very small (Matt. 25:15). Within
your own circle, you can find God (Acts 17:26,27). Outside your
circle, you can only destroy yourself, by being a busybody in other
people's matters. Peter says that instead of suffering as a busybody
in other people's matters, we should judge ourselves and suffer in our
own flesh (1 Pet. 4:15,17,1). For example: How another brother brings
up his children or spends his money, is really none of our business.
That is outside our circle. God has given us no authority in another's
circle. Therefore we should take heed only to ourselves (1 Tim. 4:16).

When we were in the world, we could say that we had made a very large
circle for ourselves that involved having opinions about many people
and many matters. But now we must be careful to stay within the circle
that God has drawn around us as individuals. In most cases, that is a
circle that contains only one person - yourself! If you are a parent,
the circle will take in your family as well. If you are an elder in a
church, the circle will take in those in your church. But in almost
all other cases, each person has to judge only himself. It is when we
transgress and go beyond the boundaries of our own circle that fellowship
with others is destroyed; and our own sanctification is hindered as well.

We are commanded to "be subject to one another in the fear of Christ"
(Eph. 5:21). This means that the fear of Christ should make us afraid
to tread into another's circle. We will restrain ourselves in our fellowship
with each other, so as not to be a busybody in matters that do not concern us.

Curiosity is a deadly but undetected sin in the lives of many
believers. This is one of the earliest manifestations of being a
busybody in other people's matters. Children are usually curious to
eavesdrop and listen in on the conversations of others. Paul said,
"When I became a man, I put away childish things" (1 Cor. 13:11). But
most believers do not put away this evil habit even after growing up.
Such curiosity finally leads them to the still more evil habit of gossiping.
Those who practise this habit, that is characteristic of old women,
will find that they are unable to discipline themselves to lead a godly
life (See 1 Tim. 4:7). Pornography also is but Satan's way of satisfying
the evil curiosity in the flesh to see the naked bodies of others.

Jesus was tempted like us to be curious too. But He steadfastly
refused to go outside the circle that His Father had drawn around Him.
Thus He never sinned even once in this area in His 33½ years on earth.
When we see how weak we are in this area of curiosity, we can
understand what a mighty accomplishment Jesus' victory was in this
area alone. To be curious to know who is getting married to whom, and
who is going to have a baby next, etc, is the pastime of ungodly people.
No wholehearted brother or sister will ever engage in such a pastime.

Going beyond the boundaries of one's circle can also be seen in the
way some elders, husbands and parents lord it over those who are to be
subject to them. We must never terrify our children or put a pressure
on our wife or on the other brothers in the church, in any way. The
words of Elihu are very fitting here, "No fear of me should terrify
you, nor should my pressure weigh heavily on you" (Job 33:7). Each of
us should be careful to ensure that those who are under our authority
in any way (children, wife, servants, believers, etc.) never feel
terrified or pressurised or threatened. It is very easy to go beyond
our boundaries when we have power over others. Then fellowship is destroyed.

A husband can so dominate his wife, as to crush her personality.
This is foolish. God has made a husband and wife different from each other,
so that each can be a help to the other. In viewing any issue, you as
a husband may view it from one angle, and your wife from another. That
would be like your taking a photograph of a building from the north
side and your wife taking a picture of the same building from the
south side. When the two pictures are laid side by side, they may look
completely different. But only thus do you get a complete view of the
building. You would be a foolish husband then, if you demolished your
wife's individuality, so as to make her take every photograph from
your viewpoint alone! The loss will then be yours. If you had allowed
her to be herself, you could have obtained another view of the matter
that would have enlarged your own understanding of it, and made you wiser.
Here is where many a husband has to cleanse himself of his folly.

Tiding over the waters

A boy was sitting on a park bench with one hand resting on an open bible. He was loudly exclaming his praise to GOd. ''hallelujah! hallelujah!! God is great!'' he yelled without worrying whether anyone heard him or not.
shortly after, along came a man who had recently completed some studies at a local university. Feeling himself very enlightened in the ways of truth and very eager to show this enlightenment, he asked the boy about the source of joy.
''hey'' asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, ''Don't you have any idea what God is able to do? I just read that God opened up the waves of the Red sea and led the whole nation of israel right through the middle.''
The enlightened man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began to try to open his eyes to the ''realities'' of the miracles of the bible. ''That can all be very easily explained. Modern scholarship has shown that the red sea in that area was only 10 inches deep at that time. It was no problem for the Israelites to wade across.''
The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man back to the Bible laying open in his lap. The man, content that he had enlightened a poor naive young person to the finer points of scientific insight, turned to go.
Scarcely had he taken two steps... when the boy began to rejoice and praise louder than before. The man turned to ask the reason for this resumed jubilation. ''wow!'' exclaimed the boy happily, ''God is greater than i thought! Not only did he lead the whole nation of israel through the red sea, he topped it off by drowning the whole Egyptian army in 10 inches of water!''

Unanswered Prayers: Common Reasons Why

One of the greatest benefits afforded to every Christian is the privilege of answered prayers. In the Bible, Jesus made this tremendous promise, “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” (Matt 21:22). However, despite the Lord’s willingness to answer prayer, it is obvious that some prayers have gone unanswered. Why is this? The following are the most common reasons why some prayers do not get results:

1. Lack of Fellowship with God and His word

John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”

Unanswered prayers are sometimes a result of absence from fellowship with the Lord and His Word. Jesus promised that if we would remain in His fellowship, and allow His Word to remain in us, this would produce results in prayer.

2. Not seeking to Please the Lord

1 John 3:22 “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”

Answers to prayer come when we seek to keep His commandments and please the Lord with our life. This is not to suggest that we “earn” answered prayers, any more than we can earn salvation which comes only by faith (Eph. 2:8-9). He answers our prayers from his “grace” and “mercy” (Heb. 4:16), not merely from our good deeds. However, keeping His commandments and pleasing the Lord is a product of our obedience to His word, which is faith in action (James 2:20). What are His commandments? He commanded that we are to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as ourself (Mark 12:30-31). Further, Jesus said we are to love our brethren as He has loved us. “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). Lack of love, bitterness, unforgiveness is the root of many unanswered prayers, since faith works by love (Gal 5:6).

3. Unconfessed Sin in One’s Life

1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”

There is no doubt that sin will disrupt the flow of God’s blessings and answers to prayer. The psalmist, David wrote, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear” (Psa. 66:18). All acts of rebellion and disobedience to God is considered sin. Sins of “commission,” are those overt acts which are done in disobedience. However, sins of “omission,” are those things we don’t do in obedience, but know we should (James 4:17). The remedy for all sin is to confess it to God, forsake it, and ask Him to forgive you (1 John 1:9).

4. Improper Motives

James 4:3 “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”

Our motives in our prayer requests are of concern to the Lord. He wishes to help us in our time of need, but is not obligated to answer prayers which will merely feed our carnal, worldly appetites and (lustful) pleasures. Our motives and desires can be corrected by humbling ourselves, and drawing near to God (James 4:8-10).

5. Not asking in God’s will

1 John 5:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

God will only answer those prayers that are in “His” will. When we ask anything that is in His will, we can have assurance that those “petitions” (requests) are granted to us. God’s will is revealed through His Word, the Bible. Anything promised by His Word is His will, and we can be confident that He’ll honor our prayers based on His Word.

6. Don’t know how to pray

Luke 11:1 "...Lord, teach us to pray...”

Some lack effectiveness in prayer simply because they don’t know what the scriptures teach about prayer. Jesus gave His disciples an outline for prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. Take the time to study it. Other passages teach that prayer is primarily to be a private, intimate time with the Lord (Matt. 6:6), to be intermingled with praise and thanksgiving (Acts 16:25, Phil. 4:6). Times of fasting with prayer are beneficial to strengthen our faith and power in prayer (Acts 14:23, 1 Cor. 7:5). Jesus often went to secluded places to spend prolonged periods in prayer (Luke 6:12, Matt. 4:2).

7. Lack of Faith

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

We cannot please God without faith. Prayer is not merely “begging” from God. It is “believing” God and His Word! Faith will come forth and grow as we devote our attention to the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Our faith can also be “built up,” by praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20).

8. Misunderstanding of Faith

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Many do not understand that faith is believing in the reality of things, even though we cannot see them (Heb. 11:1). Jesus said that “when” you pray, you must believe that you “receive” your answer at that moment. The word, “receive” comes from the Greek word, LAMBANO, which means “to receive now” (present tense). He then says we will “have” them. "Have" comes from, ESOMAI, which means “to possess later” (future tense).
So, when we pray we must believe in the finished results of our prayer, and we will eventually experience the tangible results sometime later.

9. Wavering faith

James 1:6-7 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;”

There are those who allow every “wind” of feelings or circumstances to influence or discourage their faith. They vacillate back and forth, like the waves tossed about in the sea. One day they believe, but the next, they’re ready to give up, and so forth. Such persons usually base their faith on their feelings or emotions instead of God’s Word. They who waver in their faith cannot expect to receive “anything of the Lord.” Our faith must become stable, steadfast, and consistent to receive from God.

10. Failure to apply spiritual Authority

Mark 11:23 “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

There are times that some prayers may not get far until we incorporate the spoken authority of the name of Jesus. The reason for this is that the problems we face may “sometimes” be a product of an evil spiritual origin. As Paul writes, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Eph 6:12). In such cases, our prayers may need to engage in what we call “spiritual warfare” to obtain results.

The need for this type of prayer is most obvious whenever Christians deal directly with demonic activity. For this evil operation to cease, our prayers need to include the exercise of spiritual authority against the devil in the name of Jesus, commanding him to leave (Acts 16:18). Therefore, as Jesus indicated, there will be times that we may need to literally speak to mountains (symbolic of obstacles and problems) and tell them to move in Jesus’ name.

11. Lack of Perseverance

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Probably the greatest reason that some prayers go unanswered is because many give-up praying and believing before they receive their answer. As long as we have the promise of God’s Word, be patient and persistent - keep believing, and don’t quit, no matter how long it takes! God has a “due season” when He will bring the answer to pass

THE U IN JESUS

Before U were thought of or time had begun, God stuck U in the name of His Son।
And each time U pray, you'll see it's true,You can't spell out JesUs and not include U
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came।
And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified।
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U
When JesUs left earth at His Upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention।
"Go into the world and tell them it's true That I love them all - Just like I love U।"
So many great people are spelled with a U, Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do, He'd like them to know, But it all starts with U.

God has a plan for every man

We are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2:10
God may have designed u to be someone great or planned for u to be a regular guy.Becoming the latter may not sound very inspiring but an ordinary man serving God is extraordinary indeed.God often uses common people to achieve mighty things. The work of God has in mind for u may run the gamut from everyday good deeds to outstanding great works. Its all important to God.Any life lived for His purpose is highly significant.

Growing christianity in india - recent development in few parts

Churches are mushrooming in the holy hills Tirumala, one of the most sacred religious place for the Hindus, in Andhra Pradesh with the alleged tacit approval of the government.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which runs the richest temple in the country, will hand out one-gram of gold to poor families to keep them from converting to other religions
A Christian television channel with emphasis on evangelism will be launched in the State with the blessings of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, who is a practising Protestant Christian.

According to a report in the vernacular daily Andhra Jyothi plans are afoot to construct a church up in Tirumala when there are already seven churches in Tirupati. The report alleged that the AP Chief Minister, Dr Y Samuel Rajasekhara Reddy, a convert to Christianity, was providing all the government support for building the new church. The government controls the management of the temples in Tirupati and Tirumala through the TTD Trust.Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy has decided to sanction grant-in-aid to old churches for repairs. Similarly, grant-in-aid would be sanctioned to new churches. He is the first chief minister to take the decision to give a facelift to abandoned churches. State Government has issued a specific GO Ms No. 21, stating that Rs. 80,000 will be sanctioned to each church for repair and renovation purposes, and Rs.1.50 lakh for constructing a church in the shape of grant-in-aid.

In Christian Dominated Kerala, Hindus will be a minority in the 25 years
despite the fact that Hindus enjoyed a majority status in the country, the census suggested that soon it might reduce to a minority in many parts of the country due to various factors. In fact, Kerala might be the first victim where the Hindus would become minority by the turn of 2030, as, at present, they were majority by just three percent, he claimed.

A large number of Kashmiris have converted to Christianity in recent years. It is not a hidden fact that conversions are taking place regularly across the valley, though the numbers are debatable in the absence of an authentic census. A survey in the valley, particularly in Srinagar, reveals that around a dozen Christian missions and churches. On the one hand, a 0.2 million strong Hindu Pandit population has been reduced to a mere 6,000 scattered individuals following a mass exodus in 1990. On the other, an entirely new phenomenon - the conversion of Muslims to Christianity - has cropped up. It is being estimated that the Christian population in the valley has increased from a mere 650 people (according to the 1981census) to something to the tune of 13,000.

Former Australia skipper Steve Waugh is planning to set up a Christian township in Mumbai।
The VHP functionary expressed concern over religious conversion and claimed that more than eight lakh Hindus were being converted annually all over the country.

In any earthly relationship, the way to develop relationship with someone is to spend time with them. Intimate relationships are born by learning to trust. Being open and vulnerable and being willing to show all of your heart invites intimacy. To be intimate is to be willing to show all that is in your heart to the person. To be an intimate friend of God, you need to be able to pour out your heart to Him, sharing the most intimate details of your life, your hopes, your dreams and your very heart with Him.

Prov. 17:17 (NIV) A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

This scripture not only applies to God's heart toward us, but it should be our stance toward the Lord. Our hearts should long to be with Him no matter what the circumstance. As His people, We are to love Him and be His friend first. From that base of intimacy, we can pray effectively.

If our prayer life consists only of petition and intercession, it can lead to anger and frustration. If prayer is not answered in the speed that we wish it to be answered, we can become bitter and resentful toward God. However, If we grow to know God, a delayed prayer will only be an opportunity to pray again. Spending much time with the Lord is one of the only methods to truly know His ways, and not just His acts. Knowing God leads to resting in the assurance of His ultimate goodness, despite the circumstances we see around us.

To be in intimate relationship with God is to make Him number one in our lives, above all others, and above all else.

Matt 10:37
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;

Ask the Lord to show you any idols in your lives that would be number one instead of Him. These idols can take the form of family, friends, ministry, work or even personal dreams .

B. We get to know Him through the study of the word of God, in prayer.

As you daily study His word, you will soon get to know His will, His ways and His heart, which will give you keys to know how to pray. When you understand the way He moves in the lives of people, you can pray prayers that line up to His will. Psalm 119 is a wonderful passage to meditate upon, as it tells us the rewards of studying His word.

C. As we worship the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, He births intimacy in our hearts.

In worship, we are lavishing all our attention and affections toward Him.

Worship cleanses you from the "dirt" you pick up as you walk your everyday life by just living in an unsaved world.

A good anointed worship time refreshes and revives you. It speaks to your spirit the truth about God and His power. To be an effective intercessor, you must be awake in your spirit. Worship will awaken and sharpen your spirit to be in tune with the will of the Lord.

D. Repentance

Ask the Lord to search your heart, and to show you if there be any wicked way in it. The Lord is faithful to show us our motivations and secret desires. Keep a short account with the Lord.
1 John 1:8-9 (NIV)
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If you know there are wounds from hurts you have received, allow the Lord to heal those areas as you forgive and receive forgiveness and healing. If you find it hard to hear from God, ask Him to show blockages or walls in your own life that are hindering you from receiving and giving to the Lord. Some blockages are unforgiveness, unconfessed sin, disobedience, wounds and hurts.

To pray effectively, pray out of a pure heart, so you don't pray in bitterness, anger and judgment.

Prayers prayed out of impure motives are sometimes known as soulful prayers. They are usually not very effective. When the Lord begins to show us things to pray for and our hearts are free from unconfessed sin and judgments toward others, we can pray without prejudice.

Intercession is front line spiritual warfare. It is essential that you pray for protection for yourself and your family as you enter into intercession. Sin can provide an open door for the enemy to attack us. If, when you pray for others, you find things falling apart in your own life, ask the Lord to search your heart and show you any doors left open because of your own sin, or sin against you.

E. Practice the Presence of God.

Practice just "being with God." Just enjoy each others company. Sometimes, just sitting with the Lord in silence can bring deep communion and refreshment to your spirit, soul and body. An earthly example of this sort of "being", would be a loving couple who have been married for years. They do not have to say a word to each other yet a glance or a smile can pass on deep intimacy and "knowing."

You don't always have to be talking to Him. You don't always have to be expecting heavy revelation from heaven, in prayer, you can just enjoy being with Him.

Part of practicing the presence of God is to understand he is with you always. It is a biblical fact and is not based on your emotions.
Deut 31:6 (NIV)
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
"The presence of God is there all the time. Learning to know He is there, however, will take time and patience. Just drink in His love for in the presence of God, fear cannot reside, anxiety cannot reside, heaviness cannot abide. You need to learn to tune into His presence, it is always there, but we need to practice becoming aware of it.

Pilots run out of fuel, pray, land near Jesus sign

It seemed like an almost literal answer to their prayers. When two New Zealand pilots ran out of fuel in a microlight airplane they offered prayers and were able to make an emergency landing in a field — coming to rest right next to a sign reading, "Jesus is Lord."
Grant Stubbs and Owen Wilson, both from the town of Blenheim on the country's South Island, were flying up the sloping valley of Pelorus Sound when the engine spluttered, coughed and died.
"My friend and I are both Christians so our immediate reaction in a life-threatening situation was to ask for God's help," Stubbs told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
He said he prayed during the ill-fated flight Sunday that the tiny craft would get over the top of a ridge and that they would find a landing site that was not too steep — or in the nearby sea.
Wilson said that the pair would have been in deep trouble if the fuel had run out five minutes earlier.
"If it had to run out, that was the place to be," he said. "There was an instantaneous answer to prayer as we crossed the ridge and there was an airfield — I didn't know it existed till then."
After Wilson glided the powerless craft to a landing on the grassy strip, the pair noticed they were beside a 20-foot-tall sign that read, "Jesus is Lord — The Bible."
"When we saw that, we started laughing," Stubbs said.
Nearby residents provided them with gas to fly the home-built plane back to base.

GOD IS WATCHING US

Malachi 3:3 says:
'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest so as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Go Ahead To Seize Our God Given Destinity

If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31To reach your God-ordained destiny you must do these 7 things:
1) Refuse to give in to wrong thoughts. Guard your mind. Make it a walled city that refuses to allow negative thoughts and harmful influences to penetrate.
2) Resist any temptation toward introspection. Only the Holy Spirit has the right to search the hearts and minds of men. When the Lord is ready to reveal an area of your life that need correction, He will.
3) Fight, using God's Word. Let the Word of God found in Scripture, be your strength in time of difficulty and testing. In the wilderness temptation, Jesus used the Scripture to put Satan to flight. And the weapon of God's Word still works today.
4) Listen to the still small voice of God within. God doesnt play hide and seek with His will. Discipline yourself to spend unhurried time with Him and you willthrive.
5) Shift to a higher level of faith. Before killing Goliath, David had to kill a lion and a bear. Today we are contending with issues that require us tomove to a new level of faith.
6) Get into proper alignment. God's aligning His people, putting together those who will stand as one in the day of battle. it is imperative to know who you can go to war with. You only discover such people in times of testing. Treasure them.
7) Ask God to give you understanding about the place you are in. Knowing you are in preparation for your destiny will keep you from pulling back, vacillating or throwing in the sponge. The word for you today is, press through and seize your God-given destiny!

THE STORY OF THE "PRAYING HANDS"

THE STORY OF THE "PRAYING HANDS"

No-one knows if this story is true but it could well be!!

Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children. Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of Albrecht Durer the Elder's children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy.

After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then, when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines. They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg.

Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years, financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht's etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works.

When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht's triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition. His closing words were, "And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you." All heads turned in eager expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, "No ...no ...no ...no."

Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, "No, brother. I cannot go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look ... look what four years in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother ... for me it is too late."

One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love "The Praying Hands."

More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home, school or office.

The next time you see a copy of that touching creation, take a second look. Let it be your reminder, if you still need one, that no one - no one - ever makes it alone!

The Reading of psalm 23

There was once a Shakespearean actor who was known everywhere for his one-man show of readings and recitations from the classics. He would always end his performance with a dramatic reading of Psalm 23. Each night, without exception, as the actor began his recitation -- "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" -- the crowd would listen attentively. And then, at the conclusion of the psalm, they would rise in thunderous applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the verse to life.
But one night, just before the actor was to offer his customary recital of Psalm 23, a young man from the audience spoke up. "Sir, do you mind, if tonight, I recite Psalm 23?" The actor was quite taken aback by this unusual request, but he allowed the young man to come forward and to stand front and center on the stage to recite the psalm, knowing that the ability of this unskilled youth would be no match for his own talent. With a soft voice, the young man began to recite the words of the psalm. When he was finished, there was no applause. There was no standing ovation as on other nights. All that could be heard was the sound of weeping.
The audience had been so moved by the young man's recitation that every eye was full of tears. Amazed by what he had heard, the actor said to the youth, "I don't understand. I have been performing Psalm 23 for years. I have a lifetime of experience and training, but I have never been able to move an audience as you have tonight. Tell me, what is your secret?" The young man humbly replied, "Well, sir, you know the psalm...but I know the Shepherd." It makes a difference.
Sermon on Lying

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up.

The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

FACTS ABOUT BIBLE.

  • Psalms 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible?

  • Before Psalms 118, Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible?

  • After Psalms 118, Psalms 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible?

  • That there are 594 chapters each before and following Psalms 118?

  • That if you add up all the chapters except Psalms 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters.

  • And incidentally, 1188 or Psalms 118 verse 8 also happens to be the middle verse of the entire Bible.

  • The central verse should have a fairly important message don't you think? "IT IS BETTER TO TAKE REFUGE IN THE LORD THAN TO TRUST IN MAN."

You may say that all of the above is simply coincidental. But how amazing that directly in the center of all of God's Word is a verse that sums up what the world needs so desperately to do .... put our faith in God instead of our abilities. Submission to God is the first step in having a wonderful relationship with Him and His creation.

I know...

I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end?
I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy?
I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself?
I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness?
I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't?I know He will protect me, so why do I fear?
I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait?
I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak?
I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when someone's season is over do I weep instead of rejoice?

I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way?
I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness?
I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me, so why am I scared to ask?
I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off for tomorrow what I can do today?
I know that the truth shall make me free, so why do I continue to lie?
I know He gives us revelation, knowledge and understanding, so why do I lean on my own understanding?
I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit, so why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh?
I know that when praises go up, blessings come down, so why do I refuse to praise Him?
I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me?
I know He has a plan for me, so why am I rushing it becauseI am eager to do His will, when it is His time not my time?

1. ALBERT EINSTEIN – NOBEL LAUREATE IN PHYSICS
Nobel Prize: Albert Einstein (1879–1955) was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for
his contributions to Quantum Theory and for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric
effect. Einstein is one of the founders of modern physics; he is the author of the Theory of
Relativity. According to the world media (Reuters, December 2000) Einstein is “the personality
of the second millennium.”
Nationality: German; later Swiss and American citizen
Education: Ph.D. in physics, University of Zurich, Switzerland, 1905
Occupation: Patent Examiner in the Swiss Patent Office, Bern, 1902-1908; Professor of
Physics at the Universities of Zurich, Prague, Bern, and Princeton, NJ.

2. “We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many
different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not
know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly
suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books, but doesn’t know what it is.
That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God.
We see a Universe marvellously arranged and obeying certain laws, but only dimly understand
these laws. Our limited minds cannot grasp the mysterious force that moves the
constellations.” (Einstein, as cited in Denis Brian, Einstein: A Life, New York, John Wiley and

force, so far as he can.” (Albert Einstein, Ideas and Opinions, New York, Bonanza Books,

5. “Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a
Spirit is manifest in the laws of the universe – a Spirit vastly superior to that of man, and
one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. In this way the
pursuit of science leads to a religious feeling of a special sort, which is indeed quite different
from the religiosity of someone more naive.” (Einstein 1936, as cited in Dukas and Hoffmann,

forms my idea of God.” (Einstein, as cited in Libby Anfinsen 1995).
8. “My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior Spirit that reveals

Einstein 1967, 30).
11. “The highest principles for our aspirations and judgments are given to us in the Jewish-

only very inadequately, but which gives a sure foundation to our aspirations and valuations.”
(Albert Einstein, Out of My Later Years, New Jersey, Littlefield, Adams and Co., 1967, 27).
12. “In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able

13. Concerning the fanatical atheists Einstein pointed out:
“Then there are the fanatical atheists whose intolerance is of the same kind as the intolerance

feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are
creatures who – in their grudge against the traditional ‘opium for the people’ – cannot bear
the music of the spheres. The Wonder of nature does not become smaller because one

17. Einstein’s attitude towards Jesus Christ was expressed in an interview, which the great
scientist gave to the American magazine The Saturday Evening Post (26 October 1929):
“- To what extent are you influenced by Christianity?

7 Wonders of about Bible

The Wonder of its Formation
Many authors have written their books in different languages and it is all included in one book, The Holy Bible. We now have all the books in any language that we want.
The Wonder of its Unification.
There are 66 books in the Bible. These books that had been written by different authors in different places at different periods of time were practically impossible to recover and unify.
The Wonder of its Age
The oldest book of the Bible is said to be the Book of Job. It was written approximately around 200 B.C. Now is the year 2004 A.D. A gap of about 4000 long years. Yet the book of Job is still available in our hands.
The Wonder of its Sale
The Bible is one of the largest selling book in the world. In China, a printing press called the Amity printing press sold 2.6 million copies of the Bible last year. It is stated that the sale of the Bible is now increasing by 10% every year.
The Wonder of its Interest
The Bible has aroused great deal of interest among people. Many famous scientists, scholars and even archaeologists refer the Bible. It reveals many important facts, which help them in their job.
The Wonder of its Language.
The Bible was written mostly by uneducated people like fishermen, shepherds etc. The Bible was written in languages such as Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Now we can read it in more than a 1000 languages and understand its content.
The Wonder of its Preservation
As I told before a book that was written about 4000 years ago is available even now. It was preserved for a long period of time. Not only the book of Job but also all the other books were preserved without damage as well. Are we able to preserve this book for the coming generations? May God help us for that.

The 10/40 Window is often called "The Resistant Belt" and includes the majority of the world's Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists. An estimated 4.03 billion individuals residing in approximately 7,082 distinct people groups are in the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window is home to some of the largest unreached people groups in the world such as the Shaikh, Yadava, Turks, Moroccan Arabs, Pushtun, Jat and Burmese.

The 10/40 Window has several important considerations: first, the historical and biblical significance; second, the least evangelized countries; third, the unreached people groups and cities; fourth, the dominance of three religious blocs; fifth, the preponderance of the poor; sixth, the strongholds of Satan within the 10/40 Window.

The 10/40 Window: Historical and Biblical Significance

The first and most fundamental reason why followers of Jesus Christ ought to focus on the 10/40 Window is because of the biblical and historical significance of this area. The Bible begins with the account of Adam and Eve placed by God in the heart of what is now the 10/40 Window. God's plan, expressed in Genesis 1:26, was that mankind should have dominion over the earth, subduing it fully. However, Adam and Eve sinned against God and forfeited their right to rule. Man's sinful behavior increased until God intervened and judged the earth with a cataclysmic flood. Then came man's futile attempt to establish new dominion in the building of the great Tower of Babel. That effort, which also occurred in the heart of the 10/40 Window, was an open defiance against God. Once again, God reached forth His hand in judgment. The result was the introduction of different languages, the scattering of earth's people, and the formation of nations.

The 10/40 Window: The Least Evangelized Countries

The 10/40 Window is home to the majority of the world's unevangelized countries. The "unevangelized" are people who have a minimal knowledge of the gospel, but have no valid opportunity to respond to it. While it constitutes only one-third of earth's total land area, nearly two-thirds of the world's people reside in the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window includes the countries listed to the right, both sovereign states and non-sovereign dependencies. Countries comprising the 10/40 Window have at least 50% of their land mass within 10 and 40 degrees north latitude.

The 10/40 Window: The Unreached Peoples and Cities

An estimated 2.34 billion individuals live in approximately 5,316 unreached people groups are in the 10/40 Window. The 10/40 Window also contains the largest unreached peoples over one million. The 10/40 Window also contains the overwhelming majority of the world's least evangelized megacities -- that is those with a population of more than one million. Of the top 50 cities on this list, all 50 are in the 10/40 Window! That fact alone underscores the need for prioritizing Great Commission efforts.

The 10/40 Window: The Dominance of Three Religious Blocs Top

The 10/40 Window contains four of the world's dominant religious blocs. The majority of the followers of Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism as well as the Non-Religious block live within the 10/40 Window. On the left side or western part of the 10/40 Window, the Muslim world can be seen most prominently in a wide band across the north of Africa into the Middle East. South Asia, in the middle of the 10/40 Window, is the heart of Hinduism with its 330 million gods. Buddhism influences the right side or eastern part of the 10/40 Window. Buddhism is the primary religion in Southeast Asia and although officially an atheistic country since the Marxist revolution of the late 1940s, China is nevertheless deeply influenced by its Buddhist roots.

The 10/40 Window: The Preponderance of the Poor Top

The 10/40 Window is home to the majority of the world's poor. Of the poorest of the poor, more than eight out of ten live in the 10/40 Window. On average, they exist on less than a few hundred dollars per person per year. Brent L. Myers, in his article entitled, "Where Are The Poor And Lost?", states that "the poor are the lost, and the lost are the poor." He arrived at this conclusion after illustrating that the majority of the unreached live in the poorest countries of the world. There is a remarkable overlap between the poorest countries of the world and those that are least evangelized.

The 10/40 Window: Spiritual Stronghold

The 10/40 Window includes numerous spiritual strongholds. The billions of people who live in the 10/40 Window have suffered not only the ravages of poverty and disease, they have also been kept from the transforming power of the Gospel. They are poignant examples of the truth expressed in 2 Corinthians 4:4, which states that "the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

The 10/40 Window: A Renewed Focus Top

The focus of the Christian missions community 200 years ago was for the coastlands of the world. A century later, the success of the coastlands effort motivated a new generation to reach the interior regions of the continents. Within the past several decades, the success of the inland thrust has led to a major focus on people groups. Today, followers of Christ are concentrating their efforts on the unreached peoples of the world, most of which are in the 10/40 Window.

RISING CHRISTIANITY IN SRILANKA - DO PRAY FOR IT

Sri Lanka Christians Face Attacks

Christianity is growing and gaining influence in the island nation that sits off the coast of India.

The number of evangelicals has increased by more than 200,000 since 1980. They are dedicated to evangelism, church planting, and even missions work. But Buddhism is the official religion of Sri Lanka. The growth of Christianity has angered Buddhist priests who see it as a threat. Some of those priests are encouraging normally peaceful Buddhists to go on the attack. They're pushing for laws to forbid religious conversions.

"In the last 1 year, possibly 1 ½ years, there have been 74 incidents of attacks on churches. Churches burned down, pastors beaten, some girls were almost raped, but thank God they were not.

Answers to Prayer
The commitment of many missionaries over the years has seen the churches in Sri Lanka multiply. In the 1970s only 26 new churches were planted, but by the ‘90s this number had grown to over 330.
Despite the continual warfare and military opposition to Christianity, the number of bible-believing Christians in Sri Lanka has grown from 50,000 to 240,000 over twenty years.
Challenges for Prayer
The drawn out and bloody war between the Sinhala and Tamil has deeply wounded the country, killing many and forcing many to leave their homes and sometimes their country. Many young children have been brainwashed and used as child-soldiers – trained to kill ruthlessly. Pray for all the children and adults coping with the trauma of the experience of war.
Most of the Christians live in the urban areas of the island, yet there are 35,000 villages that have no contact with any Christians. Pray that Sri Lankan Christians would develop a vision to see the gospel spread all over their nation, especially into the poorer rural areas and urban slums.
Buddhism is religion based on non-violence and tolerance, so the violence of Buddhist extremists against Tamil Hindus and Christians has shattered the illusion. Pray that in this uncertainty people would begin to look for Jesus.

THINK ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOW BUSY WE ARE?

If God granted us 70 years of life...

we would spend:

23 years sleeping
14 years working
8 years at the television
8 years in amusement
6 years eating
4 years in transportation
4 years in conversation
1 year reading
1 year in education

And if you went to church every Sunday and stayed until the ending hymn finished and prayed 5 minutes morning and night, you would be giving God 5 months of your life. Five months out of 70 years?
